Thanksgiving is all about traditions. Most of these traditions revolve around food. In my family, one of our must-have side dishes is Sausage Stuffing. The best part, it is really simple to make.
Ingredients:
1lbs. of mild pork sausage
1/2cup chopped onion
1cup chopped celery
7cups dry bread
1/2cup milk
1 can (10 1/2oz.) cream of mushroom soup
1tbs. chopped parsley
1tsp. poultry seasoning
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Pan fry sausage until brown. Then drain
Step 2: Add onion and celery. Cook until tender
Step 3: Mix soup and mix together in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave. DO NOT boil!
Step 4: In a large bowl, mix bread crumbs and sausage and soup mixture
Step 5: Combine and then add the parsley and poultry seasoning
Step 6: Lighting stuff the turkey just before putting it in the oven.
MAKE AHEAD AND STORE:
The stuffing can be prepared a day in advance. Remove from the refrigerator and allow the stuffing to come to room temperature for at least 1 hour before baking the next day.
